Promotion From Within: Exciting Leadership Transition

Some of you reading this know our company president, John Marshall. John has been with the company for seven years and has served us very well. His specialty has been keeping us moving forward and growing a top-notch leadership team.

Unfortunately for us, John is retiring in December of this year. He certainly deserves it after a great career of doing mostly turnarounds in business until finally coming to Wilson Lumber, which relative to doing a turnaround, was likely a bit boring for him.

At Wilson Lumber, we are passionate about inspiring people to grow. One of those people who inspires others and has grown himself is Josh Hendrickson, who has served the last several years as our VP of Sales and Marketing. I am delighted that after an exhaustive search for a president to replace John, Josh has accepted the position.

We looked both inside and outside of the company, did quite a few interviews, and subjected Josh to the same difficult interview process that everyone else went through. In the end, it was clear that Josh was the right person for the job.

This promotion from within is to be celebrated. What it means to us is this:

We know that our people challenge themselves to grow and that we reward them for it.

What does it mean to you? It means that the same Wilson Lumber that has been focused on helping you Build Faster is going to keep going strong and continue looking for new ways to be the market leader.

If you see Josh, congratulate him as he takes on this new challenge. I know he is the right person for the job, and I believe you will see that as well.
